SUMMARY OF SPECIFICATIONS:

The Copiague School (District) is requesting proposals from qualified firms of certified public accountants to audit its financial statements for the fiscal year ending June 30, 2017, with the option of auditing its financial statements for each of the four subsequent years. The term of engagement is subject to an annual review by the District. The District reserves the right to cancel the engagement for each of the audit years provided that written notice is given to the other party by May 31st. The audit is to be performed in accordance with generally accepted standards as set forth by the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants, generally accepted government auditing stands set forth for financial audits in the General Accounting Office’s (GAO) Government Auditing Standards and the provisions of the Amended Single Audit Act and U.S. Office of Management and Budget (AMB) Circular A-133, GASB requirements applicable to school districts, and guidelines promulgated by the Department of Audit and Control and New York State Education Department.
